D-SIDE: a pair of shoes with an experience

Nowadays all that matters is one thing: to personalize. Uniqueness is a must to create our own style which tells about our character, our mood, our way of being and way of thinking.
I've recently discovered the brand D-Side which sells shoes which contain this concept, all around Europe and Asia: they are simple sneakers but you can personalize them with the zip strap that you want which can be removed and always changed as you prefer.
I think this is an amazing idea, and you?

Al giorno d'oggi tutto ciò che conta è una cosa: personalizzare. L'unicità è un must per creare un proprio stile che rispecchi il nostro carattere, il nostro umore, il nostro modo di fare e il nostro modo di pensare.
Ho da poco scoperto il brand D-Side che vende in Europa ed Asia delle scarpe che racchiudono questo concept: hanno la semplicità delle sneakers ma è possibile personalizzarle con l'aggiunta che preferiamo che è removibile quindi può essere cambiata a nostro piacimento.

Ethic fashion!

Fashion is often associated to appearance and superficiality and we know that this world is best shown on the outside. But fashion also has meaning: every piece of a collection can be more or less important but it still has a specific concept and idea behind which can be really full of motivation. 
In this case, is motivation the feeling which moves fashion: Sevenly. This platform was born in 2011 thanks to two entrepreneurs, Dale Partridge and Aaron Chavez which decided to begin their journey to change the world.
Every week a different cause is suggested and through the website http://www.sevenly.org you can buy clothes and accessories, designed by their fashion designers for the cause of the moment, for women, men, childern, and every piece guarantees 7$ to the causes. 
Causes are always different, but they always make sure that some help will arrive to children and adults and animals, most of the time in countries where every little thing matters to improve the situation. 
Their motto is PEOPLE MATTER. Their work is amazing and admirable and everyone should take a moment to check it out and partecipate.
They already have raised almost 2 and a half million dollars in only two years and with more people helping, the fashion pieces that they sell will keep bringing not only appearence but a lot of smiles too.
Here there are some of the pieces for this week's cause, against animals abuses.

La moda è spesso associata ad apparenza ed estetica e si sa che gran parte di questo mondo si manifesta al suo meglio dall'esterno. Ma la moda ha anche significato: ogni pezzo di una collezione, importante o meno che sia, viene pensato secondo un'idea specifica che può essere più o meno banale ma pur sempre un'idea, carica di motivazione.
Nel caso di cui vi parlo oggi è proprio la motivazione che muove la moda: Sevenly. Questa piattaforma è nata nel 2011 grazie a due imprenditori, Dale Partridge e Aaron Chavez che decisero di iniziare il loro percorso per cambiare il mondo.
Ogni settimana viene proposta una causa diversa, ed attraverso il sito internet http://www.sevenly.org/ si possono acquistare vestiti ed accessori, disegnati dai loro fashion designer appositamente per la causa in corso al momento, per donne, uomini e bambini, ognuno dei quali assicura 7 $ alle cause. Queste spaziano in vari ambiti ma sempre mirate ad aiutare soprattutto bambini ma anche adulti in paesi dove le azioni e i beni più quotidiani sono un lusso. 
Il loro motto è PEOPLE MATTER, cioè, le persone contano. Il lavoro che fanno è ammirevole e ognuno dovrebbe perdere un momento per farci caso e contribuire in queste campagne da loro organizzate. Sono già riusciti a fornire quasi 2 milioni e mezzo di dollari in soli due anni di lavoro e, con l'aiuto di più gente, la moda che loro propongono oltre all'estetica continuerà a portare anche molti sorrisi.

What to expect from the new season?

Today I'd like to talk to you about the trends which we can expect from the new season: if you think about last season the scene was dominated by a hipster style in the use of materials like cotton and linen, oversize shapes matched with rocker looks, studs and leather that have been surrounded us for years.
This year, as we can see from the fall/winter pre-collections  of some of the most important designers, trends will keep the shadow of last year but will be less eclectic: the rock chic look will predominate but with a more classic shape; prints will be animalier and ethnic with simple but significant accessories.
Most used fabrics will be leather, polished, shining, metallic fabrics and colours will be basic.
The choice of materials is really smart: not too refined, so that when cheap chain stores will repeat the pieces we will be able to have a runway style without give up to quality and a cheap price.
Here there are some photos from some new collections of some designers as Barbara Bui, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Balmain, so that you can find the inspiration to fill your wardrobe for these upcoming months...but don't forget to apply your personal style to the commercial trends so that you will always be and feel yourself!

 Oggi vorrei parlarvi dei trend che potremo aspettarci nella nuova stagione: se pensiamo all'anno scorso, la scena era dominata da tendenze hipster nell'uso di materiali prevalenti come cotone e lino e forme oversize abbinati all'intramontabile look rocker con borchie e pelle che da anni ormai ci coinvolge. Quest'anno, come possiamo vedere dai look delle precollezioni autunno/inverno 2013/2014 di alcuni importanti stilisti, le tendenze manterranno l'ombra dell'annata precedente ma saranno meno eclettiche: il look rock chic prevarrà ancora, con un taglio però ben più classico; le stampe, ancora animalier ed etniche e con accessori lineari ma notevoli.
I tessuti ricordano la pelle, il lucido e il metallizzato e i colori sono prevalentemente basici per i capi principali.
I materiali scelti sono molto intelligenti: non troppo ricercati, in modo che anche quando le catene di negozi economici riproporranno i look, potremo avere uno stile da sfilata senza rinunciare alla qualità ed a prezzi accessibili.
Di seguito alcune foto prese dalle nuove collezioni proposte da alcuni stilisti come Barbara Bui, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Derek Lam, Balmain, in modo da trovare l'inspirazione per pensare con cosa arricchire il nostro guardaroba per i prossimi mesi...Senza dimenticare di adattare i trend allo stile personale per essere e sentirsi sempre noi stesse!

DIY Chanel espadrillas!

This year I've been loving all the espadrillas by Chanel and I thought they were funny to make! So here are the pictures step by step!

Quest anno sto amando tutte le espadrillas proposte da Chanel e ho pensato che fosse divertente farle da me! Ecco le foto passo per passo! 

-Get a pair of espadrillas taking inspiration by the Chanel ones / Procuratevi delle espadrillas prendendo inspirazione da quelle di Chanel

-Take a piece of fake leather and cut out two Chanel logos/Prendete una stoffa di simil pelle ed intagliate i due loghi di Chanel

-Do the same thing on a really light fabric and make some fringes around the two new logos/Fate la stessa cosa su una stoffa molto leggera e fate qualche frangia sul contorno dei due nuovi loghi

-Now sew them with the leather ones/Ora cuciteli con quelli di pelle

-Attach them on the espadrillas with a hot glue gun / Attaccatele alle espadrillas con una pistola di colla a caldo

Et voilá!

DIY feat. old denim shirt

Today I was cleaning my closet and I found an old denim shirt which was my mum's! I decided to alter it and make a studded denim vest! Here are the pictures, step by step!

Oggi mentre facevo pulizia nel guardaroba ho trovato una vecchia camicia di jeans che era di mia mamma! Ho deciso di modificarla e farne un gilet borchiato! Ecco qui le foto, passo per passo!

• Take an (old) denim shirt / Prendete una (vecchia) camicia di jeans 

• Cut off the sleeves / Tagliate via le maniche

• Make dots where you want to put the studs / Fate dei puntini dove volete mettere le borchie

• Choose the type of stud you like the most / Scegliete il tipo di borchia che preferite

 

• (I chose this one / Io ho scelto questa)

• Apply the studs / Applicate le borchie

• And you're done! / E avete finito!
